It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news of the passing of Ken Lewis earlier this week, following a stroke late last year. Ken was a fierce and loyal champion of Peacebuilders and, for the past 14 years, vital to our now renowned annual Spring for Peace Fine Wine Auction.
Every year, Ken collected all the Fine Wine designated for our Auctions, ensured it was properly stored, assembled the lots, described them, valued them and brought them to our event venues where he did a spectacular job of setting setting them up!

Ken’s expertise, hard work and commitment to the work of Peacebuilders fostered the spectacular growth of our Fine Wine Auction which has now had up on Auction up to $70,000 of fine wine in one evening!
While he organized Peacebuilders’ Wine Auction and enabled fine wine collectors to contribute to our fine Wine Auctions, Ken also organized the fine Wine Auctions for others, such as the Canadian Opera Company and the Olympic Foundation. His expert knowledge provided wine appraisals to long-standing wine connoisseurs and to donors who found their philanthropic spirit. Unknown to many, Ken was also a talented Saxophone player!
Ken's support and sage counsel were great assets to us. He was always gracious and we will sorely miss his expertise and kindness. Ken leaves Nolan Charles who was like an adopted son to him, his assistant and friend. There were no other relatives or next of kin.
We are saddened to lose him as a friend and coworker and would like to show our support by raising money to cover the costs of his funeral and memorial service. Please consider donating to help us reach our goal. Thank you.
