In Loving Memory of Ken Grof

It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my brother-in-law, Ken Grof, on Sunday, March 14th leaving behind my sister & 3 beautiful children.
My sister always said she knew as soon as she met Kenny he was the one. They were friends first and then began dating in their 20s. Early on in their careers, Kenny as a NY firefighter and my sister, a NYS court officer (and running the deli) - they welcomed their first child, their daughter Melissa. Zachary followed in 2000 & Kyle in 2003. Kenny did everything and anything for his family, both biological and fire department. Being a firemen was an honor for Kenny but being a father and family man is where he really shined. From dancing on stage with his daughter, coaching his boys, cooking my sister's favorite - Christmas Eve lobster dinner, and packing up for trips to Lake George, to being with his fireman family, Kenny loved the relationships he had and the time he spent with everyone. He loved his fantasy leagues, having his boys work the drafts, and was just starting to enjoy retirement. There were new projects on the house being done and he was looking forward to hosting many celebrations as Kyle will be graduating high school in June, Zachary from college and Melissa is engaged.
I know so much of the future for my sister and her family is uncertain as they begin to adjust to living without Kenny. He was taken too soon, he was invincible to my sister and his children, having been through 9/11 & countless other events, he always came home. The process of making arrangements has been emotional, as with all our loved ones, we want to honor them as best we can. We truly appreciate all the support we have received from family, friends and the Seaford community.
