Dear friends & family, my name is Charlissa Alexander. I am the big sister of beloved brother and son Keilan Alexander who passed away this May, 2017. Keilan was a 3rd year engineering student at Northern Arizona University and recently transferred to Sacramento, taking classes at Sierra College to prepare him for a CSU transfer. His hobbies included playing instruments such as guitar, ukulele, and saxophone. He also very much enjoyed the fresh outdoors and loved to golf, fish, and hike. My incredible brother was the most kind-hearted and giving person in the world, and in a world today that is overloaded with cruelty and mean-spiritedness, he found it difficult to find consistent footing. Keilan took his life in May, leaving behind family and friends that loved him to no end.
Keilan was a giver and asked for nothing in return, a sharp contrast to the world that he wanted to fit into. He could not comprehend racial animosity, vindictiveness, or unsolicited hostility. His heart was pure. Although the family does not condone taking one’s life, we are at peace that Keilan is no longer trapped by the despair and trauma that he apparently was going through. He was an angel here, and is now a sweet angel up above.
My family wants it known that we have life insurance; however, the insurance policy is being challenged because Keilan was not a full-time student and, in addition, the apparent cause of death.
Please donate to Keilan’s funeral expenses and help our family achieve a more peaceful closure. In the event that funds exceed costs, our family will donate any excess to local suicide prevention chapters. Thank you so much for your time.
