Honoring Kayla Turpin: Supporting Quincy, Emmy, and Ellis

On October 13, 2026, our family experienced an unimaginable tragedy when we lost four beloved members of our family in the Sauk County plane crash. Among them was my beautiful sister, Kayla Turpin, who was just 39 years old.

Kayla was so much more than the tragedy that took her life. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a friend to so many. She was the heart and soul of her family, and her absence has left a void that words simply cannot describe.

Kayla was the one who did it all. She planned everything, thought of every detail, and made sure the people she loved felt special. She was the one behind the celebrations, the family gatherings, and the memories that everyone would cherish for years to come. She took countless pictures and videos, capturing moments both big and small, making sure nothing was forgotten. None of us could have imagined just how precious those memories would become.

Above everything else, Kayla was a devoted mother to her beautiful 8-year-old twins, Emmy and Ellis. She poured her heart into her family, creating memories, celebrating milestones, and filling their lives with love. The photographs and videos she so carefully captured will now become priceless treasures, reminders of the mother who loved them beyond measure.

Kayla also knew how to enjoy life. She was a huge Green Bay Packers fan who looked forward to her yearly trips to Lambeau Field. She loved vacations with her friends, spending time at the beach searching for shark teeth, and soaking up every opportunity to make memories with the people she loved. She loved being on the lake in the summer with friends and family.

Her devotion to family was evident even in the final days of her life. Kayla had traveled to support her nieces at their volleyball games, doing what she had always done: showing up for the people she loved. It was simply who she was. She was always there, always supporting, always making sure her family knew how much they meant to her.

On October 13, that love-filled trip ended in an unimaginable tragedy.

Kayla leaves behind her husband, Quincy, and Emmy and Ellis, who must now navigate a world without their wife and mother. In one heartbreaking instant, the twins lost not only their mom, but also their grandmother, aunt, and cousin. The magnitude of this loss is almost impossible to comprehend.

Just eight months before the accident, Kayla suffered a stroke that forced her to temporarily reduce her hours at work. During that time, changes to her employment benefits resulted in the loss of her life insurance coverage.

In the days following Kayla’s passing, Quincy learned the heartbreaking news that the life insurance protection he believed was in place for his family was no longer active. Already facing the unimaginable reality of raising Emmy and Ellis without their mother, he must now navigate the unexpected financial uncertainty that comes with losing his wife and the security he believed their family had.

We are creating this fundraiser to help ease some of that burden. Donations will help Quincy with immediate bills, everyday living expenses, and counseling and emotional support for Emmy and Ellis as they begin processing this devastating loss. Any remaining funds will be placed toward the children’s future education.

There are no words that can adequately describe what our family has lost. Kayla was loved by so many, and the grief extends far beyond those closest to her. Her family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her are mourning a life that ended far too soon.

Kayla deserved so many more years. More birthdays, more family vacations, more trips to Lambeau Field, more days searching the beach for shark teeth, and most importantly, more time watching Emmy and Ellis grow up.

She spent her life making memories for everyone around her. Now, as we face a future without her, we are left holding on to those memories and wishing desperately that there could have been more.

While nothing can bring Kayla back or take away the heartbreak her family is experiencing, we hope to provide Quincy, Emmy, and Ellis with some financial security and one less burden during the most difficult time of their lives.

If you are able to donate, no amount is too small. If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser and keeping Kayla’s family in your thoughts means more than you know.

Thank you for helping us honor Kayla’s memory and surround the family she loved so deeply with the support they need.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Never forgotten.

“The beach is calling, I must go.”
