My name is Crystal Rivas, and I am Kane Rubio’s mother.

On June 14, Kane was taken from Fresno County Jail to Fresno Community Hospital, where he fought for his life for two weeks. During this heartbreaking time, our family faced unimaginable challenges and difficult decisions, including the choice to allow Kane to become an organ donor.

Kane had so much life ahead of him. His loss was sudden and unexpected, and our family is struggling to cope with the emotional and financial burden that comes with it.

Anyone who knew Kane knew how special he was. He always had a smile that could light up a room. He was funny, caring, and deeply loving. Kane was always willing to help the people he cared about, and he had a unique ability to turn friends into family.

As a single mother, I am asking for support during this difficult time. Donations will help cover funeral expenses and the costs of Kane’s Celebration of Life service.
