In Loving Memory of Justina Schummer

Donation protected
After many years of fighting it, Justina Schummer lost her battle with addiction on March 30, 2019. We have started this fundraiser on behalf of Justina's mother, Sandra Knudson to help raise funds for Justina's funeral expenses. After Justina's passing Sandy discovered that Justina had already written her own obituary, fearing this day may come. We, with permission from Justina's mother, have decided to share this with you because we feel that she said it best.

On June 24, 2018 Justina wrote:

Justina Schummer, age 26 (now, 27), Eau Claire, WI

Justina was a loving mother to two children, Japser 4 (now, 5) and July 2, they were her whole world. She had a giving heart and no matter how ugly someone was she seen them as beautiful and that didn't always end well. She had a very kind soul and a creative mind and was always expressing herself one way or another. She had a passion for children and teaching. It would be very rare to find her without music playing and when she spoke of the things she loved you could hear the passion in her voice and when she loved, she loved with her whole heart. Justina entered into eternal rest at the young age of 26 and was survived by her mother and father (Sandy and Craig) her brother and sister (Jeremiah and Julie) son and daughter (Jasper and July) and her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Justina, as she would call it, constantly had a monkey on her back and unfortunately it brought her nothing but pain and now death. She has been dealing with her addiction since she was a young teen and it took everything from her but she never stopped trying and never stayed down when she fell. She wouldn't want us to remember her for her addiction but for her beautiful soul and she wouldn't want us to hurt but to be at peace with the fact that she was finally at peace and not mourn her death but use it as a lesson to others to teach people about addiction. She would want to pass along her art work and poetry to the ones she loved and hope that they undersood.

Justina also included lyrics to the song "Smile" by eyedea
"Agony is truth it's our connection to the living, I accept it as perfection and keep on living in the now."

At this time we ask you to donate to Justina's memorial fund. Anything would be greatly appreciated. We would also really appreciate it if you shared this with your friends and family, not only to help raise money but also to spread awareness as Justina would have wanted.

Thank you!
