Julie Horner passed away very unexpectedly in the early morning hours of Saturday, February 21, at just 42 years old. She leaves behind her devastated husband, Jon, and their two children, McKenzie (15) and Eli (10), who are now faced with the unimaginable task of learning how to move forward without her. Jon must suddenly navigate life not only as a grieving husband, but as a single father supporting and nurturing McKenzie and Eli through this profound loss.
Jon and Julie met in high school and were fast sweethearts. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around family, love, and community. Julie was deeply involved in her children’s lives, especially in the cheer community, where McKenzie is an active cheerleader. Tragically, the family was in California attending a national high school cheerleading championship when Julie passed away. This GoFundMe has been created to help bring Julie home and to support her family during this painful transition.
Funds raised will assist with travel and related expenses, as well as help Jon, McKenzie, and Eli as they begin adjusting to life without Julie, emotionally, practically, and financially. Jon now carries the weight of being not only a provider, but also filling the nurturing role Julie embodied so naturally. Any support, whether through donations or sharing this fundraiser, will help ease that burden and make this transition just a little less overwhelming. Thank you for your kindness, support, and love during this incredibly difficult time. It means more than words can express.
