Joseph Lewinger exemplified the heart and soul of The Mary Louis Academy. For 20 years his vivacious spirit filled the halls of the school in his roles as teacher, coach, Assistant Athletic Director, Athletic Director, and Assistant Principal. He touched the lives of thousands of students and staff in all that he did, and everyone has a favorite fond memory of him. His kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering faith in his students inspired us all. 

On Saturday, March 28, 2020, Mr. Lewinger passed away into the arms of Jesus due to complications from the  coronavirus. This fundraiser is to help his loving wife, Maura, and their three children. Every dollar will go directly to her, and she humbly expresses her utmost gratitude. 

One may wonder why God would call to heaven such a young, healthy, vibrant, and prominent figure of our community; yet, his legacy will live on and inspire us to be kind, connected, and compassionate to others in these uncertain times where this global pandemic has brought this world to its knees.

Mr. Lewinger, you will be greatly missed. We know you are smiling up in heaven knowing that you're famous here on earth!
