In Loving Memory of Joel Urbas
Donation protected
On December 1, 2018, Joel Martin Urbas, age 25, went to be with the Lord. He was born on August 4, 1993 to Joseph and Cynthia Urbas and was an eagerly awaited blessing.
His sudden and unsuspected passing is not only a huge emotional burden on Joel's family, but also a financial burden. Any donations will support funeral expenses and ease the pain of his loving family.
Joel was an amazing young man who alway had a contagious smile on his face. He graduated from high school in 2011 and continued his education at The University of Toledo. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in BioEngineering and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He accepted a position at K2M, in Virginia, where he worked to develop medical surgical orthopedic devices. Joel was always searching for ways to make this world a better place.
Joel, a true Wolverine fan, recently moved to Ann Arbor after accepting a position with the Terumo Cardiovascular Group. He always endeavored to gain knowledge and was working toward a Master’s Degree at the University of Michigan.
Joel loved his parents and his extended family. He enjoyed cars, camping at Sandy Pines, riding his motorcycle, Spartan races, and physical training. He was always looking for new adventures and loved to travel. Joel loved his dogs Hershey and Ruby.
His parents, Joe and Cindy, were his greatest supporters, significantly influenced his life and it is no surprise that “the apple did not fall far from the tree”. Joel had many skills, a thirst for knowledge and compassion for others. He enjoyed working with his hands restoring an old car with his dad, cooking a delicious meal with his mom and trying to create a life changing medical device. There is no denying that Joel is his parent’s son.
Thank you to everyone who has shared their time and love with Joel. May he rest in peace.
