It is with deep sorrow and broken hearts that we share the sudden passing of our beloved Joanna Marie Tickle, who left us on July 10th, 2025, at just 38 years old.

Joanna was a radiant light to everyone who knew her. She had an infectious laugh and a smile that could light up any room. She was a woman of deep faith, always uplifting others with the Word of God, and lived a life that reflected His love. One of her favorite scriptures, Proverbs 27:17 — "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another" —was something she lived by, especially with those closest to her.

Joanna loved fiercely especially her sweet dog Chump, her loyal companion of 15 years. But her deepest bond was with her mother, Rosa Peña. They were each other’s entire world. Joanna would often say her mom was just a phone call away, and her mom knew that no matter what, her baby girl would always be there for her. The love between them was unbreakable.

She also leaves behind her loving father Henry Tickle, her sisters Tina and Jessie, her brother Carlos, and is now reunited in heaven with her brother Henry Jr., who passed in 2022.

I’m honored to have called Joanna my best friend since I was 14 years old. When I had no place to go, she opened her doors and her heart. We shared a spiritual bond rooted in faith she always reminded me of who I was in God. That’s who she was to everyone a true light, a giver, a sister in Christ, and a fierce protector of those she loved.
