In Loving Memory of JJ Rego

Donation protected
We’re heartbroken to share that Jenkins “JJ” Rego Jr. passed away on May 23, 2025, after a long and incredibly brave fight with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer he was diagnosed with in September 2020.

JJ was only 24, but he lived with so much heart, humor, and love. He was truly one of a kind. He loved anime, video games, and had a love for Samurai swords. You could always find him watching cooking shows, Family Feud, Law & Order, or cracking up at The Golden Girls — always quick with a witty comment and a contagious laugh.

More than anything, JJ loved his family and the people (and pets) closest to him. He leaves behind his Dad, Jenkins Rego Sr.; his Father Michael Godinez (who JJ affectionately called “Taco ”); his Mom, Jacqueline Godinez ❤️; and his Sisters, Ella and Evelyn Godinez. His beloved dogs, Oner and Bushido, were never far from his side. JJ also leaves behind his grandparents, including his Grandmother Elsa — who he cherished deeply and joked with the most — along with many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who were lucky to be part of his world.

Despite everything he went through, JJ faced life with strength, humor, and an incredible spirit. He made people feel seen, loved, and he never lost his spark. You could always count on JJ to crack a joke. If you were lucky enough, he would hilariously make fun of you . It was truly his way of showing how much he loved you.

We’re raising funds to help with memorial expenses and to support JJ’s family during this incredibly hard time. Anything you can contribute means the world, and if you’re not able to donate, we’d be so grateful if you shared this with others.

Thank you for keeping JJ’s memory alive. Watch an episode of something he loved, spend time with family, hug your pets, and maybe tell a joke in his honor. Rest easy, warrior. We will love you always. ❤️

Thank you for loving JJ with us.
