In loving memory of Jesucita Santos Cortés

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

My name is Shannon McGregor, and I’m reaching out on behalf of the beloved family of Jesucita, a woman whose presence brought light, laughter, and love to everyone who had the blessing of knowing her.

With heavy hearts, we share that Jesucita has recently passed away. Her departure was unexpected and has left a deep void in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and all who loved her dearly. For all who knew her, knew that she was the most kind, loving and giving person. She would give the shirt off her back for anyone. She was constantly housing those who needed a place to stay. She made sure to check in on all her family and friends, helping them if ever a time of need. She loved people deeply and wouldn’t rest until everyone was taken care of! She shared her love through her amazing meals, and she was sure to be the last one to eat, serving everyone before her, even new people who somehow made it over to her house.

She took care of everyone and never asked for anything in return. She loved to make people happy and lived her life outwardly to ensure that they were. Now that she is gone, I see the immense burden they now carry as they navigate not only their grief but the financial strain of future arrangements and unforeseen expenses.

This GoFundMe has been created to help lift some of that weight. Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward supporting Jesucita’s family with all costs and related needs as they work through this incredibly difficult time. Your generosity would mean more than words can ever express.

Con gran pesar, les compartimos que Jesucita falleció recientemente. Su partida fue inesperada y dejó un profundo vacío en la vida de sus hijos, nietos y todos los que la querían entrañablemente. Quienes la conocieron sabían que era una persona muy amable, cariñosa y generosa. Daría lo que se quitara por cualquiera. Constantemente albergaba a quienes necesitaban un lugar donde quedarse. Se aseguraba de estar pendiente de todos sus familiares y amigos, ayudándolos en cualquier momento de necesidad. Amaba profundamente a la gente y no descansaba hasta que todos estuvieran atendidos. Compartía su amor a través de sus deliciosas comidas, y se aseguraba de ser la última en comer, sirviendo a todos antes que ella, incluso a las personas nuevas que de alguna manera llegaban a su casa.

Cuidaba de todos y nunca pedía nada a cambio. Le encantaba hacer feliz a la gente y vivía su vida al máximo para asegurarse de que así fuera. Ahora que ya no está, veo la inmensa carga que soportan mientras lidian no solo con su dolor, sino también con la presión financiera de los arreglos futuros y los gastos imprevistos.
