Yá'át'ééh! (Hello!) Our family is sad to announce that our lovely sister/mother/grandmother Jessica Thompson-Little passed away on October 16, 2021 due to complications with COVID just 11 days after our mom Loretta who also passed away from COVID. They were both admitted at FMC here in Flagstaff AZ, but Jessica was sent down to Mountain Vista Medical Center in Mesa AZ where we said our final goodbyes. We are creating this go fund me page to help with funeral expenses and other items that may accrue for the funeral and to relieve the stress off her six surviving children. She will be transported from Mesa, AZ back to Flagstaff, AZ and she will be laid to rest back home in Inscription House, AZ where her wishes were to be buried next to her father who passed away when she was 17. Jessica was born on the Navajo Nation in Tuba CIty, AZ on April 3rd 1980. Jessica is the first born child to Loretta Begishe Thompson Scott and Jessie Thompson Sr.. Both loved her very much.
Jessica was born into the Kinłichii'nii clan, born for the Naasht'ézhi Tábąąhá clan, her maternal clan is Tódich'ii'nii, and her paternal clan is Kinłichii'nii. She grew up on the Navajo Reservation in her young childhood years and then the family moved to Salt Lake City where she attended elementary school in West Valley City, Utah. Eisenhower was where she did her junior year and also attended boarding school in Richfield, UT. She did her high school years in Granite High School. In 1997, at the age of 17, Jessica had her first child Lorissa Johnson now 25, then the following year in 1998 she had twins Jerissa Johnson and Jerrica Johnson who are now 24. Then in 2000 she gave birth to her first son Lathaniel Thompson, now 21. After settling down and raising her 4 children she met her husband Aaron Little who she had her 5th child Ariana Little in 2006 now 15. After 2 years she had her baby boy Aaron Little Jr.. Jessica Thompson was a big part of her children's lives and did everything she could to provide for them. Little did she know that her twin Jerrica would have her first child, Josephine George at age 18 making her a new found grandmother which brought so much joy to her life.
Jessica worked hard at many places growing up. She had her first job at the age of 16 where she remodeled homes for a summer work program. Regardless of where she was, Jessica worked at many places where she met a lot of people that she became friends with. Although she never worked in an office, hospital, or attended college, there is one thing she succeeded at and that was being a mom. Being the mom she was, she did everything she could to provide for them and cherished her granddaughter Josephine very much. Josephine being the little munchkin that she is, loved Jessica very much and called her Grandma, Mom, and Popcorn.
Jessica will be missed by her sense of humor, warmth and love. Our sister always opened her home to extended family and friends. She always gave her time to listen and give her words of advice. Her grand-daughter Josephine always spent quality time with her and never was away from her side. Her children and grand-daughter will always love and deeply miss her. Although her passing is unfortunate, we now know she is with her mom and dad holding her with welcoming arms. We thank you for taking the time to see the amazing person Jessica was, she was our Big Sister and loving mother of life who brought 6 beautiful children into this world.
Funeral arrangements will be made with Norvel Owens Mortuary in Flagstaff, AZ. If you would like to send donations directly to the mortuary please call 9287742211.
