The story or our baby boys

After a very difficult pregnancy, and 23 weeks of unanswered questions about our babies health, we were finally diagnosed with Stage 3 Twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, and on the 14th March 2025 we came in for our final scan. Our symptoms had progressed fast, and we were left with 3 options. Wait, do the invasive Lazer treatment to separate my placenta in half to even blood flow between the boys, or do a C-section.

We chose the Lazer treatment, in hopes that it would keep our boys inside for a few more weeks at least, where their lungs would be more developed and the chances of survival would be more optimistic. I went in for the procedure at 2.30pm, and they successfully managed to separate the blood flow and correct the amniotic fluid around them both.

Myself and my husband went out for dinner after our appointment, trying to distract ourselves from what had just happened. Midway through our dinner, I started getting tightenings, I didn't think much of it until we got back to the car, where I noticed they were becoming more intense and regular. I wanted to get home to bed, to see if I could sleep it off, but by the time we got home, my contractions were 2 1/2 minutes apart, and intense enough that I could no longer talk through them.

We called triage, in RUH bath. Minutes later, 3 ambulances arrived outside our house, and we were blue lighted to the hospital, I don't remember very much during this time, but we managed to make it to St Michaels Hospital in Bristol as they had the facilities to support babies born at 24 weeks gestation. Despite being under some of the best doctors and NICU nurses care, and many IVs to try and stop my labour, our baby boys were on their way. I was told the best chances for them surviving was to have a C-section, and less than an hour later, I had signed all of the consent forms and was prepped for them to be born.

At 2.55pm on the 15th March, Jesse was born. And 30 seconds later, Ozzie arrived at 23 weeks and 5 days.
Jesse weighed 13oz , and Ozzie weighed 15oz.
They fought for their lives for 53 and 54 minutes, with the help of some of the most incredible Neonatal doctors I've ever known. Unfortunately, their lungs were too immature, even with the steroid infections prior to birth. They died in our arms, and our lives will never be the same again.

We spent 3 days, 2 nights with our boys in the beautiful lavender suite in Bristol hospital, where they had the chance to meet both of their nannies, and we got make as many memories with them as we could with the Snowdrop team. We never in our wildest dreams thought we wouldn't be bringing our twins home, and we are utterly heartbroken that we will be burying our sons, not raising them.

We are very fortunate that we live in a country that provide government funding for children's funerals, however this does only cover the basic costs. We will never be able to do anything else for them, nothing we ever wanted to do so desperately. We will spend every Christmas, and birthday, and special occasion wondering what life would have (should have) been like, if they had stayed with us we want to make their day, a special day. As special as we can make it.

We want to shower Jesse and Ozzie in as much love as they would've felt in a lifetime, so any donations will be so deeply appreciated. Please support us in celebrating the life of our baby boys

Donations will go towards their flowers, our balloon release, dove releases, transport for family, their gravestone and venue hire for the wake. Any money that is unused will go towards the some of the charities that supported us during the most difficult time in our lives.

Thank you for anything and everything,
