Hello,
My name is Jessica, and I am Jeffrey Chen's younger sister.
On August 29, 2022, our dear brother Jeffrey Chen lost his long and courageous battle with cancer. Jeffrey will forever be remembered by his wife, Hiroko, and their two beautiful daughters, Riah (13) and Miyu (11).
To say that this has been a courageous battle is an understatement. If you knew Jeffrey, you knew of his strength, optimism, and determination to fight his rare cancer diagnosis over the past three years. From the initial diagnosis of Myelodysplastic (MDS) syndrome back in 2019 (which evolved recently to Leukemia), he endured many chemotherapy treatments, followed by a bone marrow transplant, several transfusions, and most recently, a clinical trial. Jeffrey remained steadfastly optimistic through the countless ups and downs, setbacks and little victories. He always told me, “I never think of giving up. I just go day to day and see where it takes me.” However, the complications of his condition and aggressive type of cancer proved to be too much in the end.
At only 48 years old, Jeffrey’s passing has left a hole in our family, extended family, and circle of friends and colleagues. He will be remembered for his big and kind heart, selflessness, and endless support of those around him. We will forever miss him.
Many have been asking what they can do to help, so we are starting this fundraiser on behalf of Jeffrey’s family to ease some of the burdens of such a devastating loss. All the funds raised will go directly to his daughters Riah and Miyu to contribute to their college funds and future needs. Please contribute as you are able, and I humbly ask that you keep Jeffrey and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
