My beautiful and wonderful mother passed away yesterday at 3:00 in the afternoon. She graced this earth for 91 amazing years with her elegance, dignity, beauty and brilliant mind.  Jean lived with me for the past 22 years, and we were as close as mother and daughter can be. Unfortunately she did not make end of life arrangements and I want to carry out her final wishes to the letter. My mother was not one for having a great deal of fuss made about her, and she always told me that she did not want a funeral. Her wishes are to have her ashes spread in her favorite place in Virginia, which she called home for the 20 years before she moved in with me and my late husband. I am creating this fund raiser to help me with the costs of cremation, a roundtrip from California to Virginia and some extra funds to help me offset the costs of not having the contribution she made to our living arrangements. I will be seeking a roommate, but would like to take my time so that I can find the right fit for my very simple lifestyle. March is looming just around the corner and my expenses on my own will be hard to manage until I find a roommate. Even the smallest donation will be greatly appreciated. You have all been on this journey with me for the past several months, and now I ask that you help me make her final journey to her beloved Northern Virginia. The love, support, kindness and strength you have given me will stay with me for the remainder of my days.
