In Loving Memory of Jannah Watkins

It is with broken hearts that we share the sudden passing of Jannah, a bright and beautiful 7 year old angel who brought joy, strength, and love into the lives of everyone who knew her. Jannah was born with a rare liver condition called Biliary Atresia, but from the very beginning, she showed the world what it meant to be a fighter. Against all odds, she surpassed every milestone and lived a full, joyful life surrounded by the love of her family. At regular check-ups, she continued to amaze doctors with her strength and resilience. Tragically and without warning, Jannah recently fell ill. Despite the valiant efforts of her care team, as well as her already compromised immune system due to her condition, this caused her illness to progress rapidly and her little body could no longer keep fighting. Her passing has left her family, friends, and community heartbroken beyond words. Though Jannah is no longer physically with us, we know that her spirit shines brighter than ever. In the heavens above, she’s doing cartwheels in the sky, her laughter echoing through the clouds as she eats all the candy she wants and pets all the kittens she loves. She is embraced by her Uncle Jamal, whose warmth and love continue to surround her, just as they always did here on Earth. We find comfort in knowing that they are together, she is at peace, surrounded by joy, sweetness, and the infinite love of family.

This GoFundMe has been created on behalf of her family to help cover funeral expenses, unexpected costs, and to provide space for them to grieve without added financial stress. Jannah’s two older siblings are also navigating this unimaginable loss.

In addition to supporting the family, we also hope to raise awareness about Biliary Atresia and childhood liver disease, so that more families can receive early diagnosis, better support, and continued research toward treatment in which we will be contributing to in her honor.
