In Loving Memory of Jamila Khalifa – Help Us Build a Masjid
Donation protected
If you knew our mother, you knew how much love and kindness she poured into everything she did. She had the softest heart and always reminded us that no matter how little we had, we should still give—because even the smallest act of sadaqah could bring immense blessings. She gave in all different forms, whether it was donating to charity, cooking food for others, or even offering kind words and advice to those in need.
This Ramadan feels different without her. The empty space she left behind is felt in every moment, but what brings us comfort is knowing that we can still do something for her.
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: "When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity), knowledge from which benefit is gained, and a righteous child who prays for him." (Muslim)
To honour her legacy, we are raising funds to build a masjid in her name—a form of Sadaqah Jariyah that will continue to benefit her, us, and generations to come.
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: "Whoever builds a Masjid for Allah, Allah will build for him likewise in Paradise." (Bukhari)
What better way to give in her memory than to contribute to a house of Allah? Every prayer performed in it, every Qur’an recited, and every act of worship will bring her continuous rewards, insha allah.
Allah reminds us in the Qur'an: "The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] that sprouts seven ears; in each ear is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is All-Encompassing and Knowing." (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:261)
And the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) reassured us: "Charity does not decrease wealth." (Muslim)
As we enter the last few nights of Ramadan, including Laylatul Qadr—the night that is better than a thousand months—this is a chance to give in a way that benefits her, us, and countless others. Every donation, no matter how small, will be a source of reward and mercy for her.
May Allah accept this from us all, multiply your rewards, and grant our mother the highest place in Jannah.
