Our dad, James J. O’Connor, was born on October 13th, 1939, in New York City and lived a long and full life. He loved the Yankees, loved to drive, and had many colorful stories from his days working as a taxi driver in NYC. He was a man of God and had a great appreciation for the little things in life, like starry skies or a beautiful sunset. Often, he would urge my sister and me to come outside, saying, “Come look at the moon!”

Unfortunately, our father passed on August 5th, 2025, after a long battle against esophageal cancer. He is survived by his wife, Isabel, and his two daughters, Connie and myself. We have started this GoFundMe asking for support during this time of bereavement. The donations will go to funeral arrangements, travel expenses, rent and utilities, and financial support for our mom until she goes back to work. She has taken off work to be our father’s at-home caretaker for the last three years.

We know these are hard times for many, so any donations spared to help us during this difficult transition are greatly appreciated.
