In Loving Memory of Jacyn Lamont Young

It is with heavy hearts and a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of Jacyn Lamont Young, a beloved father, son, grandson, brother, and cherished friend. Jacyn was a radiant light in the lives of many. His boundless charisma, positivity, and unwavering love for his children, Ashton and Makayla, were the core of his being. His children were the sparkle in his eye and the heartbeat of his already compromised, but always loving, heart.

The Lamont Young family made the journey to Canada from Trinidad and Tobago in the 70’s and Jacyn was one of the first generation of kids to be born on Canadian soil. He moved to BC from Manitoba in the 90’s and built his life in Surrey BC where he raised his young family.

Seven years ago Jacyn suffered a life threatening blood clot that left his heart in a vulnerable state. We are all so grateful to have enjoyed the 7 years of life he lived after that event and while devastated at the loss we are at peace knowing that he died quietly in his sleep. He did not suffer.

As we prepare to celebrate Jacyn’s life, we are committed to honoring him in a way that reflects the love, joy, and kindness he shared with all who knew him. The funeral service and Celebration of Life will be a moment of remembrance, but also a celebration of the incredible person Jacyn was—an individual whose infectious energy and kind heart left an indelible mark on everyone around him.

We are asking for your support to help make this farewell as special and meaningful as Jacyn himself was. Our goal is to raise $15,000 to cover the costs of his funeral service, memorial arrangements, and provide ongoing support for his family during this difficult time.

Jacyn's family member, Andrea Dobbs, who has been a part of his life since he was 6 years old, will be managing this fund. Your contributions, no matter the amount, will help Jacyn’s family create a beautiful and fitting tribute to a man who believed deeply in the power of community.
