In loving memory of Iris Washington

Iris Helene Washington was an extraordinary soul that brought people together, from all walks of life with her kindness and compassion.

Sadly, Iris H. Washington, born February 2,

1957 passed away in her home on September 20, 2021 of complications to the heart.

 

she was a devoted daughter, and a proud mother.

Often described as bubbly, talkative, a great story teller, with an adventurous spirit.

Always open and willing to make friends with anyone she encountered.

She was brave, and ambitious from young adulthood. She was an advocate of women’s rights, and driving force on opening the first women’s shelter in her home town in Germany 40yrs ago. Iris had a very unconventional life and wasn’t afraid to take risks, whilst maintaining an optimistic outlook on life! She had many interests and a lot of knowledge in subjects she loved; movies, theater, music, books, politics, art, and travel.

 

In honor of Iris Washington’s life we’ll be hosting a memorial service on October 9th in Los Angeles open to anyone wishing to say their final farewells . (Please contact us for address.)

A service performance by a dear friend and candle vigil will be held.

 

Donations are welcome by all who would like to help her daughter Janina / her next of kin with this unexpected financial hardship.
