Hi, my name is Trish Davies. With the family's blessing, I am raising funds to help give Irene the dignified and loving farewell she deserves, and to ease the financial stress on her devoted children during this difficult time.

Suddenly and unexpectedly Rene was taken too soon on Thursday 15th January 2026.

Rene was truly one of a kind. Caring to her core, always there for others, and stubborn in a way that made you realise very quickly that arguing with her was a complete waste of time. She was loyal without needing to announce it—if Rene was in your corner, you knew it, no explanation required.

Life was never boring around her. Never. Rene had a rare talent for turning the most ordinary moment into something absolutely hilarious. A simple trip, a quick visit, or a casual conversation somehow became a full story you’d be laughing about for years. Half the time you’d start retelling it with, “You won’t believe what Rene did…” and everyone already knew it was going to be good.

As a mother of seven and a mamgu to thirteen grandchildren, Rene somehow managed chaos like a professional sport. She loved fiercely, worried endlessly, and somehow kept track of everyone—while still having an opinion on absolutely everything. And if she didn’t approve, you’d know… probably immediately.

We all know Rene had her struggles, but what never changed was her heart. She would give her last £1 to anyone who needed it—even if she probably needed it herself. And she’d do it without fuss, without praise, and without letting you forget later that she’d done it.

Rene wasn’t perfect, and she wouldn’t want us pretending she was. She was real, funny, stubborn, generous, and unforgettable. The kind of person who leaves behind not just memories, but stories—lots of them—and laughter that still sneaks up on us at the most unexpected moments.

And honestly, if Rene were here now, she’d probably roll her eyes, tell us to stop getting emotional… and then somehow turn this whole thing into a joke.
