In Loving Memory of Irene: Cremation and Memorial Fund

Our beloved Irene passed away this morning. Irene was such an important part of our family. She helped raise me, my brothers, and my sister, and cared for my grandmother in her final years, and never once stopped showing up with grace, strength, and love. She lived a life of hard work, sacrifice, and deep kindness.

Her name was Irene Alvarez, and she was proudly Peruvian, strong in her roots, and even stronger in her heart. She was also so incredibly funny and ferocious, she taught me so much about being kind and standing up for myself. She was always there for us through everything. We loved her with all our hearts.

Now it’s our turn to care for her family, I am raising funds to cover the cost of her cremation and, if possible, to give her the memorial she deserves. Something simple but meaningful, like the way she lived.

If you can give anything, it will help ease the burden on her family and let us honor her the way she honored all of us: with love, dignity, and respect.

That’s why we set the goal slightly above the cremation cost, to help cover everything with care and transparency. Everything will be going directly to her brother Felipe who has been caring for her.
