On February 22, 2025, we said goodbye to our beloved Hyrum, surrounded by family, love, and the deep bonds that defined his life. His journey was one of resilience, love, and unwavering determination—qualities that carried him far beyond what the doctors predicted when he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Sarcoma in November of 2022.

Hyrum’s story is one of defying odds. After being sent home from his mission due to an unexpected scan revealing a large mass in his lungs, he was given a two-year prognosis. But in true Hyrum fashion—kind, competitive, and stubborn—he made it his mission to beat that timeline. And he did. He was proud of every extra day he got, and we were blessed to have more time with him than expected.

Hyrum was a man who spoke his mind with a soft but steady voice. He didn’t sugarcoat things, but he always led with honesty and heart. He loved pickleball and was an avid reader, especially of Brandon Sanderson’s books. But more than anything, he cherished time with family—game nights, shared meals, and long conversations filled with laughter. Even in his final days, his one request was simple: to be surrounded by those he loved. So, we honored that wish, filling our last weeks together with movie nights, building sheet forts, playing games, and soaking up every second we had left.

One of the greatest joys of his life was marrying Sophie, his high school sweetheart, just months after his diagnosis. She has been his rock, his angel, his unwavering source of love and care through every challenge. Now, as she and the rest of our family navigate this immense loss, we are asking for your support.

Throughout Hyrum’s battle, Sophie stood by his side with unwavering love and care, dedicating herself fully to supporting him through every challenge. This journey came with significant medical expenses, and now, as we say goodbye, the weight of funeral costs has been added to that burden.
