On February 19, 2026, our beloved father, Hugo Estuardo Lau Comparini, went home to be with the Lord. Our hearts are broken, and our family will never be the same. He was the foundation of our family, our protector, provider, teacher, and example of faith. We are asking for your support as we honor his life and fulfill his wish for a proper burial.
Our dad was a man of incredible courage. He made the life changing decision to bring his family from Guatemala to the United States in pursuit of a better future. With faith in God, he started over in a new country, not for himself, but for his children and family.
Through hard work and sacrifice, he achieved his dream of owning a small electronics shop in Burbank, California. He started at a local swap meet, working daily with his family to build that dream together. The humble storefront grew into a successful electronics, video, and computer store, built entirely from the ground up. Even after closing when larger businesses moved into town, he remained proud of what he built and the determination that defined his life.
Beyond his work ethic, our dad was incredibly intelligent and endlessly curious. He had a deep love for learning and was always teaching himself something new. He inspired all of us to push ourselves, to think bigger, and to never give up.
He was a proud father to 8 children, a loving grandfather to 14 grandchildren, and a joyful great grandfather to 5 great grandchildren. His legacy lives on in each of us. He filled our lives with wisdom, guidance, laughter, and countless stories of his childhood, his journey to America, and the lessons he learned along the way. There was never a moment spent with him that we did not walk away having learned something new.
Most importantly, our father loved God with all his heart. His faith was the center of his life. He taught us to love others the way God loves us, with patience, grace, and forgiveness. No matter what challenges he faced, he always reminded us to trust in God completely. His faith carried him through every hardship, and it continues to carry us now.
Losing him leaves a void that cannot be filled. We miss his voice, his advice, his humor, and his presence. But we are grateful for the beautiful example he set and the legacy of faith, resilience, and love that he leaves behind.
We are raising funds to help cover funeral expenses and to honor his final wish of a burial. If you feel led to support our family during this difficult time, we would be deeply grateful for any donation, no matter the amount. If you are unable to give, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping our family in your prayers.
Thank you for helping us celebrate the life of an extraordinary man of God, a devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
