Just as we were setting up this GoFundMe, we got the call from the vet. We rushed to be by Hermione’s side, and in the most painful of moments, we had to say goodbye.

She was suffering, unable to breathe, and we couldn’t let her be in pain any longer. Lindsey held her in her arms as she passed—her sweet girl, her constant companion, her soulmate in feline form.

Hermione wasn’t just a pet. She was family. And the bond she and Lindsey shared was something rare and beautiful. You could see it in every glance, every cuddle, every quiet moment they shared.

This loss is heartbreaking beyond words, and it comes at an especially difficult time. Lindsey is currently saving every penny to move to Atlanta for graduate school this summer, and the sudden emergency vet care and end-of-life expenses have created a huge financial burden on top of her grief.

We are hoping to raise $4,500 to help cover these unexpected costs and ease a bit of the emotional and financial weight she’s carrying right now.
