In loving memory of Helen Loria Francisco

Donation protected
Our beloved mother Helen Loria Francisco recently passed away this morning at 4:21 a.m., December 29, 2023 in Burlingame, California. She was 78. Helen is survived by her husband of 53 years, Cecilio ‘Jun’ Francisco, Jr., and her children, their spouses, and kids: Wally and Len, their children Isabella and Xavier; Raymund and children Raiden, Joshua, Maxine and Troy; Maria Cristina and Tee Jay Arceo; Emma and Benito Bautista. Helen was preceded in death by her eldest daughter Hazel in Jacksonville, Florida in 2014. Hazel is survived by her husband Jeff Tilan and children Geon, Jelena, and Miranda.

Our mother was a strong-willed, generous, and loving woman who prioritized her children and grandchildren’s well-being above all else. When our father moved to San Francisco to seek greener pastures, our mother lovingly raised her five children single-handedly while living in Manila. Hailing from Legaspi City, Bicol province, my mother was a great Bicolana cook who taught her children to appreciate their Bicolano roots and culture.

In 1997, our mom, together with her beloved children Wally, Raymund, and Emma migrated to San Francisco to follow our dad. My mom worked various jobs and found joy and pride in working. She retired early to take care of her grandchildren in Florida. In 2013, our mom had a massive stroke that would render her bed-ridden for 10 years. She and our dad moved back to the Bay Area in 2017 to be closer to the rest of their children.

Our mother will be remembered as a fiercely loving and caring mother, wife, and grandmother with a generous spirit. Her strength in facing her struggles with her illness inspired and empowered us to seize each day and each moment with positivity, empathy, and kindness.

Our mother was a very private person and would wish to have a private small gathering with her immediate family only. We thank everyone for respecting her wishes at this difficult time.

We send our love and gratitude to everyone who sent and are sending us their well wishes. We also appreciate any donation you would like to give in memory of our dearest Mama Helen.

Thank you so much, and have a pleasant day.

Sincerely,
Francisco Family
