In Loving Memory of Gregory Donald Joyce: Supporting Funeral
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Melissa Joyce, and it is with profound sadness that I share the passing of my dear father, Gregory Donald Joyce. Greg left us peacefully on June 18, 2025, in Puyallup, Washington, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 61 years old.
Dad was a man of incredible grit and unwavering dedication, always doing what was necessary, even when it was hard. He had a unique way of bringing lightness to tough situations with his beloved "dad jokes," and he lived by his motto, "Never give up, never surrender!" from one of his favorite movies, Galaxy Quest. He also loved his playful retort, "No more rhymes, I mean it! Anybody want a peanut?" from The Princess Bride.
Above all, his family was his world. Everything he did was to better and support us.
Our family is currently navigating the profound grief of his loss, compounded by the unexpected costs associated with his funeral arrangements and a Celebration of Life event we plan to hold to honor his memory. Additionally, during his illness, a significant amount of medical bills accumulated.
We are establishing this GoFundMe campaign to humbly ask for your support. Your generous contributions will go directly towards covering:
Funeral and Celebration of Life Expenses: This includes cremation/burial, memorial services, and related costs, ensuring we can give Greg the dignified farewell he deserves.
Medical Bill Relief for His Wife, Marilee: Any funds raised beyond the immediate funeral and celebration costs will go directly to his devoted wife, Marilee, to help alleviate the burden of the outstanding medical bills from his illness. This was one of Dad's biggest concerns – to ensure Marilee was taken care of.
Greg touched so many lives with his hardworking spirit, his loving heart, and his unique humor. Any amount you can contribute will make a significant difference and will be deeply appreciated by our entire family as we navigate this challenging time.
Thank you for your kindness, thoughts, and support.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Melissa Joyce
