UPDATE: Grant’s family greatly appreciates the generous donations. In honor of Grant, a portion will be donated to the search and rescue team at Yosemite National Park.
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Grant Cline. Grant was a cherished family member and friend whose light touched everyone he met. His adventurous spirit, boundless kindness, and ability to bring warmth into any space made him truly unforgettable.
Grant passed away doing what he loved most: climbing. From the moment he first set foot in a rock climbing gym at 14, he found not just a sport, but a calling. He once wrote, “From that moment on I had a purpose, something that made life more than just surviving.”
Climbing wasn’t just a passion, it was how Grant connected with the world. He found joy in feeling small beneath towering cliffs, peace in nature’s quiet beauty, and purpose in pushing his limits. “Life’s better when you strive to do something that makes you feel alive,” he believed. “So find that thing, push yourself towards your dreams. To put it simply, live a little.”
We are devastated by his sudden loss, and we are reaching out to our community for support. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help ease the financial burden on his family as they travel to California, plan memorial services, and begin to grieve this unimaginable loss.
Thank you for helping us honor Grant’s memory, a young man who truly lived, deeply loved, and inspired everyone around him to live a little too.
