For those of you that have had the honor of knowing Gilbert Durazo aka "Cuchillo," you knew what an enormous life presence he was to all of us - whether you knew him well or met him only once. You knew his heart of gold and you knew his generosity. You knew his charm and his outrageous sense of humor, but most of all you knew his immense love for his family and his inherent ability to make you feel like you were a part of his.

We lost him suddenly on the evening of March 22 and that loss has devastated his children, his grandchildren and the entire Durazo family and while his passing was unexpected and untimely, we can all relate to the overwhelming grief and heartache the family is forced to endure at this time. With that said, and in an effort to alleviate any financial burdens the family is facing, we feel compelled to do what we see fit as our way of saying "thank you" to Cuchillo for all the many ways he touched our lives. Thank you for all the love, thank you for all the laughs, and thank you for all the memories.

Para aquellos de ustedes que han tenido el honor de conocer a Gilbert Durazo, también conocido como "Cuchillo", sabían la enorme presencia vital que era para todos nosotros, ya sea que lo conocieran bien o lo conocieron solo una vez. Conocías su corazón de oro y conocías su generosidad. Conocías su encanto y su escandaloso sentido del humor, pero sobre todo conocías su inmenso amor por su familia y su habilidad inherente para hacerte sentir como si fueras parte de él.

Lo perdimos repentinamente la noche del 22 de marzo y esa pérdida ha devastado a sus hijos, sus nietos y toda la familia Durazo. Y, si bien su fallecimiento fue inesperado e inoportuno, todos podemos relacionarnos con el dolor abrumador y la angustia que la familia se ve obligada a soportar en este momento. Dicho esto, y en un esfuerzo por aliviar cualquier carga financiera que enfrenta la familia, nos sentimos obligados a hacer lo que consideramos apropiado como nuestra forma de decir "gracias" a Cuchillo por todas las formas en que tocó nuestras vidas.
