As I write this, my heart aches with grief for all of us. Our family lost a father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Regardless of what age someone leaves us, it is never enough time. It always feels too soon.
Gene’s unexpected passing has left the family with a flood of emotion and reeling at the extent of so many unforeseen expenses. As well as shock at understanding the depth of despair that Gene may have been experiencing. We can never truly know the reality someone is facing unless it is shared with us.
Gene passed away the first week of April, just a few weeks before his 63rd birthday. Several family members had spoken to him before Easter, and he had told them all that he was doing fine. I cannot describe the shock that was felt when the family learned of his passing that first week in April. Although he suffered from multiple health issues, we are grateful that it appears he just lay down and passed in his sleep.
Gene had struggled financially, physically and mentally since COVID hit, as many of us did. There were many obligations and loose ends that were left behind that we are now facing. As the family rallies, processing and supporting each other. We are realizing that we are able to move through the physical demands that are needed. However, we are finding that the financial aspects are much tougher to move through. We were just not prepared for the sudden loss and burden of final expenses that were left.
This fundraiser will go to mitigate the final expenses of Gene’s death and to mitigate the final expenses that were left behind. We are hoping to alleviate the financial burden for the family members that are moving through the financial challenges that are now faced.
I know that many are struggling financially and that is the most difficult part in reaching out for help. Please know that even the smallest donation is greatly appreciated. No amount is too small to help make a difference. Remember that each drop of rain that falls will eventually fill a large barrel.
The family requests that if you are not able to donate financially that you share Go Fund Me on your social media account to help get the word out.
Even in our deepest grief we can see God move and bless us in many ways, for that truth we are eternally grateful. We thank you in advance for all your love and support during this difficult time. May God bless you abundantly.
