As we all mourn the loss of our truly beautiful friend Gav, we are coming together as a community to raise some money to support his closest loves Bo, Rory and the family during this difficult time.
Contributions from this fundraiser will be going towards; Gav's send off that took place on the 11th of April, a Balinese ceremony that needs to take place in the house they were staying, supporting Bo and Rory to return back to South Africa with Gav and for them to be with their families as well as any other financial support that they may need.
If there are any costs left over after covering the necessities, we will be donating to a mental health charity in Gav’s name.
As a worldwide community of people who cherished and loved Gav, we would greatly appreciate any donations, no matter how big or small. We are sending love to the community and hope that you look after yourselves and be kind to everyone you meet. You never know the battles they may be fighting.
We will keep everyone updated as much as we can.

* About the Fundraiser/Organiser/Beneficiary*
For those who don't know me, I'm Rhi Joyce, a friend of Gav and Bo's who lived with them in San Pedro, Guatemala. I have set up this fundraiser on behalf of Bo and Rory as gofundme is not supported where they are and to lessen the burden of having to organise this on top of everything else they are going through. To ensure full transparency and so you know how this is working, we are collecting funds here in Australia which are being withdrawn by my brother Liam Joyce, who is also a friend of Gav and Bo's, as he has an economics degree and is better at handling the money side of things. The funds will then be sent straight into Bo's account within the processing time of 2-5 business days where she and Rory will put the money towards Gav's send off, the Balinese house ceremony, flights for Bo and Rory to get home with Gav safely, any other financial support they may need as well as donating any left over funds to a mental health charity in Gav's name.
There is a team of 5 of us on this end to ensure that everything is accounted for and running smoothly including myself Liam Joyce, Jill Wilga, Ceci Petu and Zaya Hofsteenge, who you are very welcome to reach out to on Facebook if you have any questions.
