In Loving Memory of Ezra Michael Huynh

A Note From Kimberly and Michael:

Ezra Michael Huynh, today we celebrated your life, and it was beautiful. Hundreds of people joined us in worship, prayer, and celebration. I was left in such awe when I saw the amount of people that came to celebrate you. It’s a true testament of the impact you had here on earth.

Daddy’s work buddies came and gave you a beautiful escort. 7 police cars with their lights on leading the way for you. A tiny, but mighty child of God. 7 being the number of perfection, and that you were, Son.

We give thanks to our Lord for answering our prayers. We press on, we continue to believe in the God of miracles, and we trust in the Lord who is the same yesterday today and forevermore.

Our family is so grateful for everyone.

-To the nurses and doctors who cared for Ezra, thank you for showing Ezra so much love during your time with him.

-To the LCPD, thank you for giving us the opportunity to spend every moment with our son together. Michael was told when he signed on that you take care of your officers like family. We’ve felt that from day 1.

-To our friends, thank you for supporting us from afar and for showing us love even when we don’t see each other in person.

-To our VBC family, thank you for your love and support. Every Sunday when we worship together, Ezra will be in Heaven worshipping too.

-To our family, you know. We’ve shed tears together that say more than we could express. So thank you.

We love you so much Ezra Michael Huynh.

On September 16, Michael and Kimberly held their son, Ezra Michael Huynh, in their arms as he took his last breath and entered the gates of Heaven.

During the 44 days in the NICU with Ezra, each day was filled with prayers, worship and thanksgiving in Michael and Kimberly’s hearts and on their lips. They read the word of God to Ezra, sang over him, prayed and declared life into him, and were able to witness many miracles that God performed in his body. Although we are deeply saddened, Michael and Kimberly believe with complete confidence, that God used Ezra's life to change us in many ways. They also believe that their son fulfilled every plan and purpose that God placed on his life here on Earth.

Ezra’s life was a miracle since the day he was born. On August 3, 2021 at 32 weeks, his heart rate had dropped significantly and an emergency c-section was performed. Born without a heartbeat for 10 minutes, Ezra had a grade 4 hemorrhage in his brain. When given two options to either hold their son and let him pass naturally or continue treatment, it was without hesitation that Michael and Kimberly told the doctors to continue treatment. From that moment on, they began contending for their son's life; for healing and a creative miracle to take place. Everyday, both Kimberly and Michael stayed in the NICU at Texas Children’s Hospital to be with their son. They watched him grab hold of their hand and move to the sound of their voice. His life helped his family, those caring for him in the hospital and all who knew of him to have an increase in their faith and pray like never before. His name means “helper” and he did just that for many of us during his time here on Earth. Ezra Michael entered into heaven at 9:41PM on Thursday, September 16, while lying peacefully in his mother's arms.

Loved ones near and far have asked how they can help support Michael and Kimberly during this time. As Michael and Kim's older sister, I organized this GoFundMe page on their behalf to help with the upcoming funeral and medical expenses. Thank you for your outpouring of love, support, and faith filled prayers. We appreciate your kindness, compassion, and generosity during this time.
