My name is James, and I am sharing this on behalf of my brother-in-law’s family for the sudden and unexpected passing of my nephew, Evan Marvee “Uno” Dela Cruz, just 8 years old. Uno was born on January 1, 2017, earning his special nickname because he was our family’s “number one” New Year’s blessing. On August 15, 2025, after only three days in the hospital, he passed away in the Philippines from dengue shock syndrome. His loss has left an unfillable void in our family, especially for his loving parents and his younger sister who adored him dearly.

Uno was the eldest child of my wife’s eldest brother, and he was a bright light in all of our lives. With his beautiful smile and dark curly hair, he brought joy to everyone around him. He was playful, protective of his little sister, and always full of laughter and stories. His sudden passing has left us not only in deep grief but also facing heavy financial burdens from his medical care, hospitalization, and now funeral expenses.

We are raising funds to help ease this burden and to give Uno the farewell he deserves. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly to his funeral costs and to support his immediate family through this unimaginably painful time.
