In Loving Memory of Eric Chapman

"If you have been brutally broken but still have the courage to be gentle to other living beings, then you're a badass with the heart of an angel.” -Keanu Reeves

On January 1st, 2021, the light in our lives went out. Eric Chapman, only 39, passed away suddenly in his home. Fiance Sabrina & their young daughter Ariana lost the love of their life. His mother lost her first born son & his brother and sisters lost their rock, their best friend, their older brother.
The world wasn't often kind to Eric, but it never broke his spirit. Instead he filtered the pain that he endured and emitted it into a light of compassion, goofiness, understanding and love that he shared with everyone. Although he wore his heart on his sleeve, you'd never guess it at first, as he always displayed such a quiet, unwavering strength about him. That is until, of course, he heard an N'Sync song and busted out dancing in the middle of the grocery store to embarrass his sister, negated his motorcycle and apparent tough-guy image to ride ponies with his toddler neices just to make them laugh, allowed his daughter to paint his nails (and kept it until it faded off, too sentimental to care about the raised eyebrows at work)...there are too many stories and never enough time.
He had a spark that the world could never touch, although it tried again and again. His depth, kindness, deep raspy voice and laugh, child-like excitement even amongst unimaginable hardship and sturdy strength is forever irreplaceable. ANYONE who knows Eric can say without a doubt, he would give the last pair of shoes off of his feet to help you without thinking twice. He knew so deeply what it was like to hurt that he did everything he could to prevent others from feeling the same way. He was a big brother not only to his siblings, but to everyone and anyone who needed him. He never expected or wanted anything in return. In the rare instance that he did accept a well deserved gift, he cherished it and took care of it as though it was priceless, even if it was an old knick knack from a thrift store or just a leaf someone found that reminded them of him.
Since he would'nt, we're asking on his behalf for your help to fund his resting place so that he may finally find that peace and protection that he so deserves. It would break his heart to see his daughter have to carry the financial burden, when everything he ever did in his life was to provide her security and love. We have put in everything we can, but unfortunately with sudden losses, funeral and burial arrangements are absolutely crushing. We are required to have about 25,000 in cash/check form, in full, before Monday 1/11/21 in order to give him a humble burial and funeral. Since he was so young and his death so unexpectedly sudden, there was an unfortunate lack of preparation and that leaves us in a tight spot that we could never have imagined.
The smallest amount lightens a heavy burden for his family and daughter. We're not asking for your shoes, just some stones beneath our feet to create a path of much needed solace for everyone.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. From his mother, God bless you. Whether you can or cannot donate, we hope you'll post a memory of Eric that makes you smile (since we know there is a LOT & it never ceases to surprise us and make us smile) it in the comments.
