In Loving Memory of Engineer Paramedic Gabe Shamiya
Organized by Mountain View Professional Firefighters, Local 1965
The only fundraiser approved by the Shamiya family
To the communities we serve, often without ever sharing a handshake or hello, it is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of one of our own.
Engineer Paramedic Gabe Shamiya passed away on July 14, 2025 after a courageous 2.5 year battle with job related cancer. Gabe was a dedicated firefighter, a loving husband, a proud father, and a cherished friend. His unwavering commitment to serving others, his joyful spirit and positive attitude is how he will be remembered.
Gabe was assigned to Fire Station 2 in Mountain View (our designated wildland station) and was always the first to volunteer for wildland fire deployments across California. Over his 9 year career with MVFD, he served communities across the state with selflessness, integrity, and heart.
Now, we ask the communities Gabe served so selflessly to help support the family he leaves behind. Gabe is survived by his wife, Ashley, and their 2 year old son, Luca.
While line of duty death benefits and the support of Local 1965 have provided immediate assistance to Gabe’s family, we are asking for the communities support for Ashley and Luca and what lies ahead.
Thank you for honoring Gabe’s legacy through your generosity.
