In Loving Memory of Elizabeth Bird: A Fundraiser for Her Family

This GoFundMe has been created to help cover medical costs and provide support for Nathan Bird and his family during this incredibly difficult time. Any contributions will be deeply appreciated by Nathan, their children, family, and friends... as we honor her memory and legacy.

On February 13, 2025, the eve of Valentine's Day, Elizabeth Bird began experiencing chest pain. Initially thinking it was indigestion and hesitant to go to the hospital, her husband, Nathan, convinced her to seek care. Upon arrival, the medical staff quickly realized the severity of the situation. They immediately arranged for a medevac, and Elizabeth was airlifted to Missouri Baptist in St. Louis. There, she underwent open-heart surgery, but during recovery, she suffered a massive stroke. She was placed on life support until she passed away peacefully at 6:34 a.m. on February 15, 2025.

As people have been made aware of this tragedy and painful loss, many have asked how they can help, and our desire is for Nathan and his family to not have to worry about any cost of care provided for Elizabeth before her passing or any unknown related expenses. Our hope is they can properly mourn and grieve without having to worry about finances.

Things Elizabeth was known for… if a friend was in need, she would go above and beyond to help them. She had no enemies and opened her heart to every new person she met. She also spent many years working at Head Start and loved every student she had, and they loved her just as equally. The things she enjoyed where motorcycle rides with her husband, sky gazing at any time (enjoying the constant-changing and vastness of the many color pallets that displayed multiple works of art). She also loved making you laugh with her corny cow jokes.
