In Loving Memory of Earl Reyes

A few days ago the world became a little less vibrant with the passing of Earl Reyes…

Born in California, Earl not only lived to become the very definition of the American dream, but also became a true American hero on his journey, all while accomplishing many of his own personal goals. 

He worked hard, played just as hard, and truly made the most out of his life. He studied hard to finish nursing school earning good grades, pushed himself everyday to find work, and in less than a year of finishing school landed his dream job working as an operating nurse in Mt. Sinai.

He accomplished all this while traveling the world, making new friends, and leaving life-long impacts on so many people all over the planet.

In 2020 he bravely and selflessly worked on the frontlines as a nurse during the global Corona pandemic in New York City, where the disease was especially deadly.

He was such an amazing nurse that patients would often handwrite him notes thanking him for his kindness and care.

There isn’t a single person who knew Earl who isn’t extremely proud of everything he accomplished and everything he was as a human being. It was a true blessing having him in our lives and while his death has been devastating to all who knew him, it is also of great relief that he no longer has to suffer from his battle with cancer. 

Earl's sister, and closest friend, put it best:

“Our witty, fierce yet funny, and compassionate Earl is now on a new journey. We do not doubt that the former Queen Of Everything Bougie And Sassy will soon be a reigning prince in his new destination. While a great and beautiful light has been extinguished, we take comfort in knowing that his kind, caring and uplifting spirit lives on powerfully in the many friends and relatives who were blessed to know him.”

Today we ask our friends, family, and community members to help in any way you can to help with Earl's final medical expenses, and memorial costs for his funeral.
