Doshie Hough's life and legacy were celebrated on June 14, 2025. We are currently working on purchasing memorial plaques. Doshie was laid to rest next to her mother, Mary Hough. We are now in the process of purchasing a combination headstone to mark the final resting place of both Doshie and her beloved mother, Mary Hough, whose strength and spirit helped shape Doshie into the incredible woman she was. The remaining and future donations will be utilized for this purpose and any other funeral-related expenses. Your support, through donations, sharing this fundraiser, and attending the service, brought love, comfort, and tremendous joy to our family and friends, for which we are forever grateful.
Doshie was a woman whose smile could light up any room and whose unwavering faith inspired hope in everyone she met. Her mother’s legacy of strength, kindness, generosity, and sense of humor in Doshie brought comfort to those around her, and her heart was as radiant and beautifully brilliant as a diamond, loving and selfless. As the devoted mother of eight children, she also helped raise her siblings’ children and welcomed countless family members, neighborhood children, teens, and adults who found guidance, support, warmth, love, and acceptance they longed for. No one was ever turned away, regardless of age, background, circumstance, sexual orientation, or identity. Doshie’s home was a place of refuge for the homeless, the hungry, and anyone in need. Even in times of scarcity, faith in God and her commitment to serving others never wavered. She taught us to love unconditionally, to judge no one, to forgive freely, and to always speak with kindness. Doshie was more than a mother; she was a light in the community and a sanctuary for the broken. Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. Doshie’s spirit lives on in every act of kindness inspired by her example, and she is deeply missed by all who knew her.
We are deeply grateful for your generosity, kindness, and support as we celebrated the life of a truly remarkable woman. Words could never fully express our gratitude, and I am truly grateful, but I cannot say thank you enough. Still, your love and support have made the hardest days of our lives more bearable. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you; with heartfelt love, always and forever."
