We are heartbroken to share the passing of my beloved brother, Diego, who left us on May 3, 2026, at just 27 years old after a long and courageous battle with a brain tumor.
Diego was first diagnosed in 2020 at only 21 years old. He endured intense treatments, including radiation and chemotherapy, and was given just one year to live. By what felt like a miracle, his tumor disappeared for a time, giving us hope and more precious years with him.
In 2023, the tumor returned. Diego faced it with the same strength and resilience, undergoing a difficult surgery to place a VP shunt. Sadly, the cancer spread to his spine soon after. Despite more chemotherapy, radiation across his entire spine, immunotherapy, and multiple high-risk surgeries, the tumor continued to progress.
Over time, Diego lost mobility in his legs and arms as the tumor affected his nerves. Eventually, he was paralyzed and later lost the ability to swallow. Through every painful moment, he never complained. He remained positive, often reminding us, “Dios sabe porque hace las cosas” — God knows why He does things. Even in his hardest days, Diego’s concern was always for others.
Diego was an incredible son, a loving brother, and a loyal, wonderful friend to so many. He was also a passionate athlete who played soccer for many years, a sport he truly loved and that reflected his determination and team spirit. He was one of the strongest, kindest, and most selfless people we’ve ever known. His love for his family never wavered, and his spirit will remain with us forever.
As we navigate this devastating loss, we are asking for support to help cover the overwhelming medical and funeral expenses. Any contribution, no matter the amount, would mean so much to our family during this incredibly difficult time. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page and keeping Diego in your thoughts and prayers is equally appreciated.
Thank you for your kindness, love, and support.
