In Loving Memory of Derek Norman, Supporting his family

I’m writing this with the heaviest heart on behalf of my sister Ayanna and Derek’s family. On the 15th of June, we lost our believed Derek, i.e. Big D.

As you all know, Derek has recently completed heart transplant surgery a few months ago and was in the recovery phase until things took a turn for the worst. Shortly after Derek's release from rehab, he was rushed back to the hospital due to a mini- heart attack and seizure.

Unfortunately, Derek never woke up after being admitted. We first want to thank you all for your support during his transplant journey, but as many of you know Derek has dealt with health issues in conjuncture with his heart for some time, making it almost impossible to qualify for affordable life insurance coverage.

This is where you all come in family and friends. We need your help and support during these unprecedented and unexpected times. There were no prior arrangements in place to cover costs for Derek's homegoing nor to provide for his young children going forward. We’ve set up this GoFundMe to ask for assistance.

Funds raised will go towards:

* Celebration of Life

* Supporting the needs of his younger children

* Helping provide some stability as the family begins to rebuild their lives
