In Loving Memory of Declan Wilder Colianna
Donation protected
On December 27th, Declan's heart stopped, just ten months after his sibling's did in-utero.
Lani and Michael Colianna, two of the most golden hearted people you’ll ever know, need all of the love and practical support we can muster.
—
Michael is a talented sci-fi author, Lani a master quilter, and together all they ever really wanted was a baby to complete their own family. In late 2022, after seven grueling years of IVF, Lani was finally pregnant with twins.
Things were going well until their eighteen week scan, when they learned one of the twins' hearts had stopped. Devastated, but still pregnant with a baby who needed them as much as ever, they focused again on building a beautiful life for their eagerly awaited child.
On August 3rd, Lani and Michael welcomed Declan Wilder Colianna. Their sweet little bundle of joy was finally here, safe and healthy.
This holiday season, life was beginning to glow. They were both coming into the joy of parenting: the light and love of the holiday season, experiencing Declan's first belly laughs, getting to know his personality, witnessing his joy at the gift of life. The full, burst-out-of-your-chest painful love that only a parent can know. The happiness. The bliss.
On December 27th, Declan's heart stopped.
The unfathomable pain of losing another child is now their reality. This is too much for any person to have to bear, and they should not have to do this on their own. There’s nothing any of us can do to unwrite this tragedy, but we can be there for them, to hold them as they navigate this hell.
Please join me in helping alleviate the costs of arrangements so they can focus on each other and honoring the life of their sweet Declan.
I will update when arrangement details are made.
