In Loving Memory of Deborah Cayetano: A Son’s Final Goodbye

Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,

I am reaching out on behalf of my dear friend, Craig Cayetano, who recently lost his beloved mother, Deborah Susan Cayetano. Craig and his mother shared a unique, close-knit bond as a single mother and son, a duo that supported each other through life’s highs and lows. Deborah was a remarkable woman—hardworking, resilient, and fiercely devoted to Craig. She took on life’s challenges with a smile, including the many health struggles she faced over the years, from battling various illnesses to enduring the physical toll of working in the food and drink service industry. Through it all, Craig never left her side, offering love and support, right up until her peaceful passing in her sleep.

Deborah’s kindness extended beyond her family. She was a familiar face in Fair Lawn, NJ, where she was remembered for the years she spent working at the Empress Diner. She dreamed of being a nurse and, although circumstances prevented that path, she found ways to give back by supporting organizations like the ASPCA, the Red Cross, and other community services. This generosity and love for others carried through to Craig, who has dedicated countless hours to volunteering for nonprofits and making a difference in his community. Deborah couldn’t have been prouder of the man her son grew into, someone who shares her compassionate heart and commitment to helping others.

The last few months were a whirlwind for both Craig and Deborah. After a challenging move, Deborah finally found a place where she felt safe and happy, even making friends and getting ready for Halloween. Although her health was declining, she still found joy in little things, like cheering on the Yankees with Craig, spending time with family, and making new memories.

With her passing, Craig now faces the overwhelming costs of funeral services, clearing out her apartment, and handling the many expenses that come with such a loss. As someone who has given so much to his community, Craig now needs support during this difficult time.
