On friday 1st May, we lost a true gentleman, Dave Connah, in such a cruel and tragic road traffic collision. A Son, a Brother, Dad, Husband-to-be, Step-Dad and Friend. Dave was one of the most genuine, caring, selfless men I have ever had the privilege of calling a friend. Always smiling, pulling pranks on his mates, offering a helping hand, always sharing love and lighting up the room with his humour and big heart. Dave had a passion for motorcycles and riding. His prize possession being his BMW Motorrad Motorsport bike which made any dry day a perfect opportunity to go enjoy the scenic route on a long ride out. He loved biker events and shows and recently began joining group rides and organised drive-bys for others memorial events. Finding his place in the biker community and joining events that shown the true heart, team spirit and caring nature of bikers. Dave touched so many lives and has now left a hole in so many hearts. None bigger than the family he has left behind. Dave was set to marry his fiance, Kelly, in December of this year, marking their 12 year anniversary is the most special way possible. Only last weekend they were celebrating signing the agreement of her wedding dress, and in a small but significant moment in their lives, seeing her future name, Kelly Connah, written on an official form for the first time. A small moment that held so much love and hope for a perfectly beautiful future. Only 6 days later, all those dreams, plans and all that love has been snatched away by the reckless actions of a selfish individual. Dave has 3 children who hearts have also been left broken. A Son, Joe. A daughter, Leah. And Step-Daughter, Megan. Megan and Leah are in their final year of high-school and about to begin their GCSE exams. Their worlds and life as they know it, shattered. Joe, a young man of just 19, carving his way in life, now missing a fundamental influence of the man he would grow up to become. The devastation left behind by this tragic accident is immeasurable. Dave was a fix it all man, would never want for his family to have to worry about anything and would do anything he possibly could to carry the weight of any burden, so that his loved ones didnt have to feel that pressure. As friends, we cannot bear to see this heartbreaking loss bring his family any form of preventable stress. With that in mind we are hoping to ease the burden left on his family with raising some funds to support them as they navigate finding their way in this new future they have to live in. We are aware that times are extremely difficult for most people in the current financial climate, and any amount of help is greatly appreciated. If you cannot donate at this time, please consider sharing Daves memory and this fundraiser to your circle. We are aiming to help with covering funeral costs and hopefully be able to give Kelly, Megan, Joe and Leah a final gift and act of support in honor of Dave. Thankyou to everyone who has taken the time to read this, for all of the support and thoughtful words shared with Kelly, his family and his friends already, and for all kind donations in his memory. Rest in peace. David Connah 27.01.1983 - 01.05.2026 A true gentleman.
