On the early morning of June 15, 2025, my beloved daughter Darina Smith was involved in a tragic car accident that left her with irreversible brain damage. She was only 21 years old and three months pregnant with her first child. After the accident, Darina was placed on life support as doctors worked tirelessly to save both her and her unborn baby. On September 4, 2025, an emergency C-section was performed in hopes of giving her baby a chance at life. By the grace of God, her child survived. Sadly, despite every effort made, Darina was pronounced deceased on September 6, 2025.

Our family is completely heartbroken by this sudden and devastating loss. As we now make arrangements to lay Darina to rest, we are also doing everything we can to ensure her baby has a safe and supported future.
