In Loving Memory of Dan Guerrero

It is with a broken heart that I write this message. Our beloved Dan was a loving father, husband, son, brother and friend to many. His beautiful soul was taken from us on March 14th, 2024.
Dan spent four of his favorite years in Guadalajara, Mexico between 1982 and 1986. He always told me stories about his time in Mexico and how he never wanted to leave. He had such an admiration for the city and loved his childhood friends he made, resulting in lifelong connections. He begged his dad to stay in Guadalajara, but he ended up moving back to the states in 1986. He would write letters back and forth with his friends from Mexico, and eventually reconnected with them through social media years later.
Dan left for Mexico on March 8th. He was heading out there to close a chapter in his life, with his father recently passing away in October 2023, he knew he still had an apartment in Mexico. He went out there with the intention of moving out all the things from his father's apartment in San Luis Potosi, but decided to fly into Guadalajara to meet up with his old friends, then drive to San Luis. During the days leading up to his departure, he was acting like a little kid going to Disneyland for the first time. He had so many fun things planned with all of his childhood friends and when I dropped him off at the airport he had the biggest smile on his face. Once he arrived in Mexico, he met up with Luis, his best friend from his childhood out there.
If you know Dan, you know he loved to take pictures. During his trip out there he would update his family with everything he was doing, sending videos and pictures of all the food spots he was trying, the sightseeing, all in all, he was having such a great time out there. Wednesday, March 13th, he was finally able to close that chapter and moved out all the things from his father's apartment, giving them away to family and friends that lived close by.
The next day he was tragically taken from us, turning our world upside down.
My dad was a dreamer, living life to the fullest every day he could. We will all miss his infectious smile, loving nature, and ability to talk to anyone, anywhere. We love you Dan with all of our hearts and know you will always be watching over us.
All money raised will go directly to my mother, Gabriela, in order to help cover costs associated with his passing as well as the costs to bring him back from Mexico.
On behalf of my dad, mom, sister and I, thank you everyone.
