Hi everyone, this is Doy.

It is with a profoundly heavy heart that I am organising this fundraiser on behalf of Damien’s family, as they navigate the unimaginable grief of his sudden passing on the 4th of June 2026.

Sure D's impact on so many lives is impossible to measure. He brought a kind of joy and connection that will live on in people’s hearts forever. Whether you knew him from his school days, or his time as the DJ for Def Tex through the late 80's to the 00's, one of the longest running collectives in the UK Hip-Hop scene. Or as a pioneering DJ who elevated the Norwich scene through the legendary club night Marvel, Damien was a true cornerstone of our community.

He is thought of so highly by so many. For a lot of us, Damien literally provided the soundtrack to our lives and guided our musical awakening. He didn’t just play records; he created spaces where people felt alive, connected, and inspired.

To honour his legacy and give him the send-off he truly deserves, we are raising funds to support the costs of his funeral and wake (dates still tbc). Our goal is to completely lift the financial burden from his family right now, allowing them the space to grieve, breathe, and remember the incredible man he was.
