In Loving Memory of Ronald Benevento- A coach and mentor to our kids.

On Feb. 22, 2026, our community lost an incredible soul, Ronald Benevento, 53, a devoted father, friend, neighbor and a passionate volunteer CYO basketball coach who changed the lives of so many young athletes. Ron wasn’t just a coach, he was a mentor, role model and a steady source of encouragement for every player who stepped onto the court. He gave so much of his time, energy and love to our CYO Basketball community, never asking for recognition, only wanting to see the kids grow, not just as players, but as confident, respectful and resilient young people. Whether it was late night practices or games, or one-on-one talks after a tough loss, Ron showed up, every single time. He taught our kids discipline and dedication, the value of teamwork, how to win with humility, how to lose with grace, how to be thankful to their families for their support and most importantly, how to believe in themselves. The loss has left a deep void in our hearts and within the CYO basketball community he cared for so deeply. This GoFundMe has been created to honor Coach Ron’s legacy. It is meant to support his family with funeral and memorial expenses, college expenses for his children, and to ease financial burdens as they navigate this difficult loss.
