It is with shock and unimaginable heartbreak that we announce the sudden loss of Chris Sutherland in Detroit, MI on September 19, 2026. Chris was an incredible musician and an even more incredible human being, who brought warmth, kindness and steady support into everything he did. The music community has lost an amazing talent and dear friend to all.

We have created this fundraiser to support Chris' beloved wife Tina as she faces this devastating loss. During a time when the focus should be on grieving and remembering Chris, we hope to ease some of the financial burden that comes with such an unexpected tragedy.

Funds raised will go directly toward bringing Chris home to Canada, as well as funeral and memorial expenses, time away from work, and the many unexpected expenses that arise after such a sudden loss. We hope this support can give Tina and family the space to grieve without having to carry the financial burden at the same time, reminding them of how deeply Chris was loved and how many lives were made brighter simply because he was in them.
