In Loving Memory of Charles Mwewa (December 25, 1975 – May 6, 2025)
An Invitation to Support the Mwewa Family (organized by Charles Mwewa’s Brother and Sister-in-Law, Bellah C and Mathew Kashila (Clarice Mwewa’s siblings)
A son, brother, husband, father, friend, confidant, teacher, Lawyer and the many more ways he showed up for us-It was a grace to have known, heard, read, taught and been loved by Charles Mwewa. He will be in our hearts forever.
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Charles Mwewa, who departed this life on May 6, 2025.
Charles was a man of immense faith, wisdom, and compassion. He loved God deeply and lived each day with a purpose grounded in service, justice, and love. A devoted husband to Clarice for over 20 years and a proud father of three daughters, Charles was a pillar of strength and guidance for his family and community.
In November 2024, Charles rushed to the emergency due to a tear in His Aorta. After Heart surgery, he suffered a massive stroke that left him in the ICU. Despite the tireless efforts of doctors and the prayers of loved ones, he passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with multiple complications.
Charles’s life was one of incredible impact. He was a gifted legal educator and advocate, founder of Charles Lawgiq, and a beloved instructor at Herzing, CDI, and Trios Colleges. He was also a prolific writer—authoring over 150 books on law, theology, poetry, and leadership. His work, including Zambia: Struggles of My People, reflected his devotion to truth, justice, and human dignity.
To those who have asked how they can help or support during this time, this is a space to contribute, should you feel moved to do so. Any contributions will go directly to supporting the family with memorial and related expenses, as they honor Charles’s legacy and navigate this profound time.
Further, please know that Mathew Kashila, Charles’s brother-in-law and Clarice’s younger brother, has graciously agreed to act as the beneficiary. Mathew will ensure that all contributions are used responsibly to cover funeral, memorial, and related expenses on behalf of the family.
Thank you for standing with us during this time of grief and remembrance.
Charles Mwewa will be laid to rest at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services in Ottawa, Ontario—Canada’s National Cemetery and a place of profound dignity and peace. Beechwood offers a sacred space where family, friends, and loved ones can come to reflect, remember, and honor the life of a man who gave so much.
This resting place reflects Charles’s values of faith, family, and legacy—a fitting tribute to a life devoted to service, wisdom, and unwavering love for God and family.
God bless you.
